How do you sell your car if you can't put signs in it or craigslist it?

We've had 0 luck on craigslist with it and got a ticket for parking it with For Sale signs in it. So how the heck can you sell a car if you can't do that? Any ideas? If you take it to a dealer don't they screw you over and give you practically nothing for it? How on earth do people sell cars?

1. Well, we used to put an ad in the newspaper before there ever was a Craigslist.
2. Ebay classified, kijiji, newspaper, nickle ads etc.
3. I don't know where you live but from the name of Hollywood I would assume you are from Southern California. If you are, there are private sales lots in the Santa Clarita Valley(SCVautofair) and one in the Thousand Oaks/Newberry Park area where you can put your car on display and on their web site. The cost is about $100.

5. Back to the old days. You run ads in the newspaper and on autotrader.com ( $75 for 3 weeks). You can have the For Sale sign in the window when you are driving.
