Looking for a new used car, are their any that I should stay away from?

I just went through a bankruptcy and my mother in law is cosigning on a car for us. We have conditions that we have to go buy when looking for a car. It has to be either 2003 or newer with less than 100,000 miles on it or for a 5 year loan it has to be 2007 or newer. I am looking at cars between $7,000 and $10,000. I see a lot of repeats on the cars.com website for certain cars. Chevy Cobalts, Kia's, Hyndai's and others I was just wondering if their are any that are known to be cheap bad cars. I am looking for a good deal so I don't want to be suckered into getting a car that is going to break down in a year once all the warrenties expire.

  1. Your best bet is to check Kijiji. They have thousand of cars. You can pick the year and the amount you want to spend and they will give you hundreds to look from. Descriptions and mileage etc. come with them and you can pick the kinds of cars you want to look at. Pictures come with each car also.
