is there a law aginest putting a car up for sale before returning cash?

i was buying a black 2.0s capri for £1500 and i gave him £300 but he told me i can come and have that back today due to me wanting to do a DVLA check and him thinking i don't trust him but before he has even given me the money back he has put the car backup for sale is there some sort of law aginest this ?

1. its his car, not yours. You dont have title or any legal claim. He can turn it into a bath tub if he feels like it. Your only claim is to the 300 he owes you.
2. life is wonderful He owns the car until he signs it over to you..right? right.. he can sell it..its unusual to do with you giving a down payment but being rude isn't a crime,,[at least in the US] if you get rest of cash and buy it,,end of story,,if he sells it to someone else get your money back..if not,,see you in small claims court,,
3. by his taking your 300 he has agreed to sell you the car he cant sell the car without giving you back your 300 because you could sue him for breach of contract
4. As long as he gives you back your $300, what do you care?
