How does a Car's Value work overtime?

So I know a car depreciates value until a certain point? Like a 65 Mustang is worth more then it was 10 years ago. So lets say a Brand New Camaro, it will lose value as the next years model comes out, how much value will it lose until it gets to "classic" status??? Thanks Again :)

  1. On average a new car will lose 50% of it's value in the first four years. But the value will not begin to rise until the car becomes 15 to 20 years old and even then the car must be interesting enough to be collectible and it must be in immaculate condition with low miles to even be considered a "classic". A 20 year old four door Accord is just an old car. A 20 year old Hemi Challenger with all the right options and low miles is an instant collectible.
