Can I put a new engine into a 1978 Honda Civic?

I really love the exterior of this used 1978 Honda Civic that's for sale, but of course I worry about driving with such an old engine. Can I have a newer engine put into the car? How much does that normally cost?

1. Yeah but it will probably cost more than you pay for the car (around 1500 because you'll need to do some electrical work on the car to get it to run). I think people put b16s in these cars.
2. I'm not sure if you can get a new engine for a car that old, but getting a rebuilt one or getting the current engine rebuilt should be possible. In so far as the cost, I paid $4000 (installed) for a Jasper rebuilt engine once (was worth it too).
