can new zealanders get a car loan in australia?

Mocing to australia soon and worried cant afford to buy a car as ver expensive, can a nz citazen get a car loan i australia and whats the criteria? we have a job lined up but need to know if there is a lengh of time we need to wait before a loan can be done?

1. you'll be able to get a loan but will have to show that you are earning an income before you do. Most of it will be the same as what goes on in NZ alot of the companies are similar cars are more expensive here though

3. Avoid motor finance wizard!!! They have been on the news so many times! They give dodgy cars and rip people off.
4. You can only get a sheep loan. Sorry that was a really sad joke, that you probably haven't heard before, not. You can get a loan, however have to prove you have an income. You would be better taking public transport, depending where you are, however it may be difficult. It will also depend on the cost of the car too, you may be better off getting a personal loan for a car depending on the rate, however if it is for a bit of money you may not be able to as you may have no equity here. Just have a look around first and consider ringing some Aussie banks before you get here (I would suggest, NAB Westpac, Anz) and thats about all I'd go through here. Good luck and have fun when you are here, and yes you will hear many more sheep jokes, lol. But I suppose we are convicts here, lol. And I just read (AVOID Motor finance wizard like the plague) They will blindly rip you off. They have been in the media all the time here.
