Trying to sell an old car to a salvage yard?
I have a 2001 Hyundai Elantra GT Hacback blue with leather interior that has been sitting in my garage for about 1 1/2 years and I was wondering what would a salvage yard give me for it. It has about 110,000 miles but it does not run anymore. You best guess is okay?

- Not very much...a few hundred $$ ?? How about donating it to Salvation Army - they will tow it for free and give you a receipt for tax purposes :}
- Probably less than a hundred bucks - these days scrap metal values are really low. You might do better to get a tax deduction and donate it to goodwill or the salvation army.
- Not much and if they have to tow it they will not want to pay anything at all. You would do much better to put it on Craigslist. A private person would be willing to pay a fair price--for a non-running car. I would guess $1000 would be the upper limit. But don't listen to me! Listen to yourself. Does it just need a jump--or is the engine block cracked?
