where to sell my old car? can i sell it a junk yard and wish one in houston tx/?

hi i want to sell my car because it doesnt work it only needs a new transmission and is too spensive i dont want to give away my car for free i want to get something out of it at 300 dollards where can i sell my car? can a junk yard buy it? and do you know who will buy it so i can sell it to the junk yard please help
