How can I modify my car without spending a lot of cash?

I have a 2000 V6 Firebird. I was wondering if i could modify the car with "install it yourself" parts without spending much money. I looked in k&n websites which offer air intake kit which gives 6.79HP and costs around 360 dollars. I dont think its worth it. Is there anything else?

  1. Buy GOOD used parts. There's no need to buy a new K&N filter since they are reusable.
  2. SPINNER hubcaps are less than $50
  3. half fill your fuel tank with normal fuel, then fill the other half with sunico 260 fuel ,this will really clean your internals out. as they say it will go like the clappers.
  4. depending on your skills, i would say you could do alot, as i did with my honda prelude before someone hit me and totalled it, which is why im glad i didnt spend much on modifying the car. If you want it loud i suggest you just go to ebay and search for a short ram or cold air intake, and they sell for pretty cheap for the off brand, as k&n is only what people suggest because it has a good name, although make sure the seller has a good reputation. Also a good and cheap thing is go to meijer or somthing and buy their cherry bomb mufflers, they sound great on v6 and v8 engines, and only cost about $20, and also to have someone install only about another $60. Those two things make your car really loud, and even a little faster, for cheap.
