Is the Lincoln 98 Town car worth buying?
Hi, I just hope someone helps me out to make this decision. There is a nice Lincoln 1998 town car for sale, the car has a lot of work done - '98 Continental has had a lot of work done, including, new steering, front brakes, wheel bearings, window regulator, tires replaced, rotated & balanced, tune-up, complete service, check up & a full detail. the dealer said it is Mechanically extremely solid. Engine & transmission are super strong. Is it worth buying this car, the car really looks great? what about the future maintenance of this car? is it very expensive?

- The Town Car is an excellent car, parts are plentiful and they are a cheap car to maintain. Because it's a body on frame rear wheel drive car, it's easy to maintain and much of the work you can do yourself. If it was well maintained than yes it's worth buying. You can get well over 500,000 miles on these beasts, that's one of the reasons they are the favourites of limo companies. You should also do a carfax check on it as well before you buy to make sure it was not in any accidents and to make sure there are no liens against it.
- Well I used to drive Town Cars as a Chauffeur. They are the industry standard limo for a reason. Now about only bad thing on them is the Air Suspension. It MUST be deactivated be jacking or putting car on a lift. A $ 400 fix or or convert to springs. The Radio is a bit dated, But the Ford 5.0 efi engine will take any mustang power ups or dress pieces. Top Speed 110mph. Also it is built old style. Body on chassis rather than Unibody like most cars. Parts are everyplace so fixing is easy.
