Finding a new company to finance a car loan?

Right now i'm currently with CITI Bank. I'm desperatly trying to find a new company to finance through, simply because CITI bank is just plan nasty, one day late on a payment and they call me, asking me where my car was because they were going to pick it up, it ended up in a screaming match, because I don't put up with b.s. like that. Is it even possible to switch? If so, How?

  1. Find a bank or credit union near you and speak to a loan officer. I'm sure they will be more than glad to help you .
  2. yes its possible to switch, but your credit rating will probably affect a loan application, lending institutions don't like slow payers, i suggest you join a credit union, now days anybody can join, and the interest rate is usually lower, a company doesn't harass if you are 1 day late, but if you do it all the time, another story
  3. fairwinds credit union (any credit union is good) chase bank is good too try with your personal bank first good luck to you
  4. My recommendation is to not finance a car, but to pay for it with cash. That way, you don't have to deal with finance companies, and you can't be late on a payment because you don't have one. But, if you have to have a loan, go through a small bank in your city. They may not have the best rates, but they have the best customer service.
  5. Good question... You could try a person to person social loan club. No banks. lendborrowclub.com This concept got started in England and has been in the USA since early 2006. It's small now, about $71 million in loans. Could it get big? I don't know. If it does, it will make CITI bank hurt. Robert
