Free old car restoration?

My dad has a old car that has been sitting up for quite awhile. Its a very old car that has the shifter on the column. Over the years his health and back problems has not made it possible for him to work on it. There have been many offers for this car but my dad does not want to give it up. Is there any kinda of free old car restoration projects that are going on anywhere or anymore? The car is a real classic beauty.

1. what do you mean free? as in someone that will restore your dads old car for nothing? do you know how many tens of thousands of dollars goes into restoring a vehicle? 9 times out of 10 it cost more to restore than the car is actually worth. there was that tv show pimp my ride but I'm not even sure its on the air anymore, and I wouldn't imagine it would be very easy to be accepted as a candidate to have your car on the show. other than that no one will restore it for free, there is no such thing as charity auto restoration as far as I heard.
2. Check with your local high school vocational program or local technical college...many times they take on projects so that their students get hands-on experience and use the skills they are being taught. Good luck!
