What car(s) would be ideal to purchase as a stock car to modify to get excellent aerodynamics?

Hello, I am thinking about starting a project that is inspired by a website (ecomodder). Weight and drag are a big deal when your getting to and traveling at 70MPH. I am trying start a list for myself of vehicles to purchase used that I could greatly modify to create a high MPG car. In my area I priced gas at nearly 3.50 a gallon, I think it's time I found some good options. Thanks for reading my question and thank you for any answer you may give.
