Can someone explain to me how to sell a junk car?

I have a 1999 Ford Taurus with a blown headgasket. Besides that the body is in good shape. I want to put in on craigslist for about $400. Please explain the steps when someone comes to buy it, like what do I do withthe title and stuff like that. I have never sold a car before and I don't want anybody to get over on me. Do they sign the title? and what other paperwork do I have to do if any for a junk car?

You will sign the title before handing it over. Doesn't matter if the buyer signs it. You will also write a receipt describing the vehicle and include 'sold as is' in large letters. You will keep the receipt, and may make a copy for the buyer if needed. Other than that, get the cash in hand before handing anything over.
