Is there a car insurance company in the UK that offers competitive quotes to drivers with penalty points?

My husband has 9 points on his license which are all from Dec 08. We are looking into getting a second car but most insurance quotes are shocking, just wondered if there was a particular insurance company who specialises in insuring such drivers? Thanks.

Nine points seem quite bad. You should wait until the penalty points 'reset' which I believe will do within 3-4 years so won't be too long until it does. For the meantime stay behaved on the roads!

With 9 points on a license he'll be lucky get insurance, let alone at any decent price. All you can do is phone around some specialist brokers, the online comparison sites will be useless.
