What has been your best negotion price for a new or used car ?

My Wife and I recently were able to practically negotiate a thousand dollars off the price of a new used car and get a higher trade in value on our old car . Wonder what has been your best deal you have ever negotiated for a new or used car ?

1. I managed to get a £1000 off a used car. It's actually not that difficult when you know that the car is overpriced anyway, and you can prove that your offer is more realistic. You can also use techniques whereby you can suss out how desperate the seller is for a cash sale. You can often knock these people's prices down by the walk away technique. At the end of the day, if there appear to be no other takers, you can almost name your price as the buyer.
