Is Geico the only place I can save money on car insurance?
I know Geico advertises all over the place about saving money on car insurance, but are there other good places to get a good deal too? I kind of like the gecko but I am just annoyed by huge companies.

- Those who shout the loudest are often the biggest liars. So don't believe even Geico can save you money, because if it were that true they would not need to spend that kind of money in advertising. Find an independent agent, more often then not they will find you a better rate. They can do the shopping and leave the savings to you.
- All the insurance companies advertise "People who switch to us save an average of some hundreds of dollars on car insurance." How can that be? Isn't our best strategy to switch to several of those in a row until they are paying us to have insurance? It is all in that first clause, "People who switch to us...." The truth is that rates vary quite a bit from one circumstance to another and one company to another. People won't switch unless it is going to save them money for the same coverage (or at least what they think is the same), so all the switchers are saving money. Obviously, if one company offered consistently better rates on all forms of coverage they would be the only game in town. Shop around, and also look at satisfaction surveys on line and among your friends. For example, although it may or may not be true any more, about 20 years ago every insurance horror story I heard was about State Farm. Value can be a hard thing to figure out in the insurance world.
- Geico ain't the cheapest. I too don't like large companys. but State farm is cheapest for me, cause its combined with homeowners.
- Just call a few browers in your area.,.. they-re the one that deal with this sort of things
- The independent insurance rating service, A.M.Best, lists Geiko as average. There are as many other companies that offer better service and lower rates as there are those that do not. Geiko is CONSTANTLY advertising on television. Who do you think pays tor those ad's?
- Better to get quotations from most of the companies available there and select the lowest for yourself.,.,.,
- Insurance rates vary from company to company, so, your best bet would be to obtain a quote from different insurance companies to see who can provide you with the best rate. Only obtaining the rate from one company won't let you know if you are getting the best rate.
