Geico Car Insurance, help? what do i do?
Hey guys, my parents have three cars and all have geico insurance, but we're about to be out of country for a month or two and not even going to be using the cars for one or two months.. Is there a way that we can cancel/pause the insurance, so we won't have to pay insurance for a month. I mean we're not even gonna be using the cars, so were losing 1,200 dollars for absolutely nothing.. And if you can, can you explain it or just give me a link? thanks

- contact Geico. http://www.geico.com/local/mbischoff/
- you would have to turn in all the plates to cancel it...if you want to keep an active policy you could put 2 cars on storage coverage and leave one active and for that month the payment will be cheaper
- I don't believe insurance policies work that way. You can't temporary cancel insurance with the intent of coming back. If this is something you really want to do tell them you are having trouble paying the bill for a month and ask if you could skip a month and come back afterwards. It's different with every company so your best option is to call them.
- It depends on what state you live in every state has different regulation when it comes to insuring. To remove coverage completely you will need to turn in your license plate in most states (which is more expensive than just paying for the coverage) or you can place your policy on a storage plan GEICO offers 2 of them. Have your parents give them a call and inquire 1-800-841-3000.
