how not to be a ricer? 1st car wanting to modify it?

i just got my car its a 2002 acura rsx white, ive been planning to spend some money on it to make it look nice, plans are pretty much exhaust, cf hood, and rims, and maybe a small spoiler and body kit, im gonna need some advices, i know im gonna be having this car for a while since its new and i got it as a gift, im 20 and turning 21, so any advices on what to not do and do,???

2. if you worry about rice its too late oh and 2002 is not new try some rice websites and then be opposite George
3. To be safe, I would say only rims (but not chrome), and maybe the hood if it doesn't look cheap.
4. keeping it off of the ground is a good start really.
5. your plans are pretty much the definition of rice.... all show no go.... wheels and good, low profile tires. is a good start cf hood= rice, you dont need the ventilation for a stock motor spoiler= rice unless its an rsx type s spoiler or a lip spoiler, no cheap park bench spoilers, your not RWD you dont need downforce body kit= rice nobody really has bodykits anymore unless theyre hiding an intercooler behind it
