Is it safe to buy cheaper car parts online?

I need a new track bar and a sway bar linkage. Sway bar link at NAPA is 40-60 dollars depending on which one I want, but online I can get one for $20. I can get a track bar for $200-300 easy or $52. Is the quality going to be worse? I'm shopping on ebay for the cheap parts (all new).

  1. NO! there always scams!!!!! Even if the other ones in real life are alot of money! There better for your car!
  2. It depends on if the people online are telling the truth or not. Like if they are really new or are not. I would pay a little extra for the parts at NAPA.
  3. Shopping for "cheap" often isnt advisable. I'd search for value: quality per dollar. Beware of counterfeit. A big prob in parts & pharmaceuticals.
  4. Depends on the seller, I guess. I've bought everything from spark plugs to fully rebuilt cylinder heads off Ebay in the past and never had problems. Ever. Just use your best judgment.
