What is a cheap but nice car to buy?(new not used)?

13,000 to 16,000 would be a good price range to stay within. I want something good on gas too. CAR no trucks please.

1. Buy a Kia . They are good cheap cars with good gas milage. Also ford fusion and focus are in that range.

They are brand new model, so noone knows their long-term reliability or quality. Italian cars have never had a great reputation in the USA for building compact cars. Fiat has already failed once in the USA, so I would not give them a free pass until they have been on the roads for a couple of years.
