Do you think it is possible to find a car for someone for 2000 or less?
I am trying to help someone on a budget. They do not want payments. In today's crazy economy it seems finding a good vehicle for this price is almost impossible! Any web sites???? ( besides Craigs list, ebay or auto trader) that you know have cars for sale?

- I will tell you, it's tough today anymore. After that stupid cash-for-clunkers program, the amount of available used cars has decreased drastically. It effectively cleared many of the "good, cheap, and sturdy" cars off the market. Now, you're looking at paying $5,000 for a piece of plastic on wheels with 150,000 miles on it already... A few years ago, you used to be able to buy a 4 or 6cyl car, with around 50,000 for $3-4,000 easily. Now, good luck finding deals like that. Anyway, your best bet would be to either find one for private sale, find one at a public auction and bid on it, keep your eyes open at smaller dealers that go to auctions, or go to the auction yourself if it is open to the public. Just last summer I bought a work car, 2000 Crown Victoria, in great shape for around $3,000 out the door. So deals are out there, you just need to be patient and look in the right places. It seems either the car is complete garbage, or else it is in decent shape but the price is well over what it should be. Best of luck to you, I know how you feel!
- Only if they're very good at doing their own maintenance, in which case they would already know the answer.
