Do I need to buy car insurance to drive my girlfriends car?

I live in Alberta, Canada. My girlfriend recently moved here from Seattle, WA and brought her car across the border. Right now we are depending on that car and I'm wondering if I need to buy additional insurance for her car. Am I even able to do this as her car is not registered in this province? Thanks for any help

1. She has to register it insure it and add u as an additional driver
2. First, you cannot insure a vehicle in Alberta that's not registered in the province, never mind the country. Second if she is the owner of the vehicle then she needs to insure the vehicle. Of course first she needs to import the vehicle into Canada and register it in Alberta.
