Is Modifying your car a chav thing to do?

Is it seen by others a chav thing to do when you add body kits and alloy wheels to your car etc?

  1. Been there done that. It's out of date now. best thing you can do is get your car looking smart. you can still do wheels. but don't go for over big ones, the car will just look crap.
  2. Yes, as well as a total waste of money because assuming you don't stuff it in a Maccy D car park, no-one will want to buy it after you've chavved it up. Not even other chavs, surprisingly.
  3. Wrong, very wrong, unless done VERY subtly. Why spend a fortune on a car to make it look dodgy? Spend the money on a beautiful car in the first place, and keep it in pristine condition Pimping up your car also makes your insurance much more expensive (unless you don't tell your insurers about mods, in which case they void your insurance when they do find out, e.g. when you claim on your policy)
  4. hi james ..too old to know what chav means ..i modded my cars for donkeys years ..i loved it ..not so much for looks but for speed ..then some one ran into me ..result ? the assesor said i had changed car = no payout ..didnt stop me ..then i bought this car ..mk1 golf gti ..WOW..BLOODY NORA..what a car ..i suddenly realised i could never make a car this good ..and never did again ..i own a garage ..can drive allmost anycar i want ..but nothing comes close to that golf ...and whatever you do ..i mean this ..in fact im begging you ..dont get a corsa ..ever ..they are strictly a girls car ..only fit for cissy boys
  5. It depends on how you modify it. I've done modifications in the past, and it will almost always get you noticed, but if you do it carefully then you can make it look classy. Putting a huge bodykit and drainpipe exhaust on a 1 litre Corsa is about as chav as you can get, however there are plenty of examples of sensible modifications such as uprated brakes and lighting for safety.
  6. Been modding for over 20 years i am def not chav. The secret is to pick a decent car it does not have to be spuidly expensive, but some cars are more linked to bad modding so pick a car which is not and only add mods which suit the car and are not over the top to much is not always good a decent fitting kit and some wheels is ofen all that is needed with a few mminor mods under the bonnet.Other area's if you buy a tuner car against a modded car which are different from each other then you have the option of adding serious power to the engine. So yes there is a chav side to modding but true modders don't mod that way or humour them.
  7. a nice set of wheels can make a car look better and handle better, bodykits are very chavvy so are halfords type air filters, neons, etc. they do nothing apart from make you look like a total **** and attract the old bill's attention. Total waste of money.
