How much should I sale my car for?

I have a 2000 Dodge Intrepid and the engine is bad on it but the transmission is still good and the interior and exterior are in really good condition. I have some new parts on it that are less than a year old, including brakes (a month), water pump (a week or so), a rotor (a month), thermostat (3 months), neutral safety switch (almost a year) and cam sensor (2 months). Was wondering what would be a reasonable price to ask for it?

  1. Al the new parts won't make the car a better value. It's still a 2000 Intrepid w/ a bad motor & that's all a seller will look at. On a good day $1000 at best. Those things just were not built to be reliable from the start. That's what made Dodge/Chrysler go into bankruptcy. And it does depend on the overall condition & mileage of the car. I cannot advise you anymore on this b/c you left out those details.
  2. A 2000 in good condition is worth no more than about $2,500. It would probably cost more than that to fix the engine so it's worth nothing but scrap value, about $100. Even your transmission is worth nothing because if the car doesn't run the transmission can't be tested. No one is going to expend the time and effort to replace an unknown tranny. Thew $10-$50 parts you installed aren't worth removing.
