How do I transfer my NCB from the old sold car to my newly purchased car as both the insurers are different?

I have purchased a new car and have already paid one year's insurance premium. Now I have sold my old car on which I had never claimed any bonus so far. I wish to transfer the benefit of No claim bonus to my newly purchased car from the next year. What steps do I have to take as both the Insurance companies are different.

1. You tell you new insurers of your existing NCB and they will confirm this through an insurance web site or by phone to last insurer and then when it is confirmed they will apply the NCB.
